Before starting a Business, do your research and know your purpose!
This is very important because once you know your “WHY” then it makes so easy to get the ball rolling with everything. Of course with anything that you do, you want to make sure and do your research on what you are wanting to do! I would recommend finding people that are proven to be successful in the industry and if they have a HOW-TO go read it or watch it because more than likely they will share tips and tricks on how they got to the point where they are in their success so pay attention! It is always good to check out social media and go add yourself to all of the groups that you possibly can regarding the industry and business you’re wanting to get into. You will be able to follow others in your industry as well as ask questions in the group - Trust me, you’ll get all of the support you’ll need.
2. Before starting a Business, set goals & stick with them!
A must-have for being a Business Owner is to be goal-oriented because there is no way to progress toward success without goals. You should make short term and long term goals for your Business. Short term goals are anywhere from 3 months to 2-3 years. Your short term goals should be attainable and within reach. Long term goals are usually 5-10 years or sometimes 15. Long term goals are the next step after your short term goals and are also usually the creme of the crop. Long term goals shouldn’t be within a close reach, but instead far enough away to achieve your short term goals to get there. Being a Business Owner is going to be tough and it’s going to be a challenge but it can also be very rewarding as well. If you’re able to hurdle the obstacles that come in your path then you will definitely reap the benefits.
3. Before starting a Business, set your foundation & make sure you have all of your systems in place!
I can’t speak on this enough! From my personal experience, you want to make sure you set a good and strong foundation for your Business as well as have everything in place. Of course you will still be able to run your business without a foundation, but you will also be running around like a chicken with your head cut off and that’s no way to run a Business. If you take your time and build your Business right, everything will flow smoothly and you will be able to focus on the areas that you need to within your biz. You may be wondering, “What do you mean by having all of your systems in place”? It simply means having your standard operating procedures readily available and having a plan.
I have successfully started 2 Businesses and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. And quite frankly, it’s not supposed to be!
